Our Catholic Identity and Parish

St Michael’s Catholic Primary School, Nowra acknowledges the traditional Aboriginal custodians of the land. We are committed to promoting a faith relationship with Jesus and, drawing on the charism inherited from the Good Samaritan sisters our school is a respectful, inclusive and compassionate community where faith and virtue, inspire quality life-long learning for all.

Children have many opportunities to celebrate the love of God, at a personal, class and school level. St Michael's is blessed to have a very supportive and involved wider school community with many parents, grandparents and friends becoming taking part in school prayer celebrations.

Whole school celebrations include:

  • Opening School Liturgy
  • Ash Wednesday Mass
  • Holy Week Liturgy
  • Holy Thursday Liturgy
  • Easter Liturgy
  • Mission Week and Mission Mass
  • All Saints and All Souls
  • Remembrance Day
  • Sacrament of Eucharist
  • Sacrament of Penance (Reconciliation)
  • Sacrament of Confirmation
  • Christmas Concert

PARISH DETAILS

Our school is part of the St Michael's Nowra Catholic Parish community.

There are many aspects of parish life in which students, staff and families may become involved – including our weekly Grade Masses with parents and the parish. All members of our parish school community are actively encouraged to be part of the life of the parish and Catholic Church.

Parish sacramental celebrations also provide an opportunity to celebrate students' life of faith with fellow parishioners. Our school provides programs of preparation for the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation each year. Read more here.

Supported by their parents, friends and the parish community, we hope that in receiving these sacraments for the first time, the children will continue to build their relationship with God through participation in weekly Mass. View the Parish Mass Times here.
